Simon Kordonsky

Professor of the Department of Local Administration at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. He graduated from the Tomsk State University, Faculty of Chemistry and Biology. In 1988 Kordonsky recieved his Ph.D from the Novosibirsk State University, defending his thesis Cyclical Procedures of Scientific Research. He has activly participated in the discussions on market and liberal reform strategies in Russia, among informal groups of scientists. Kordonsky worked as the Head of the Experts Directorate in the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation (2000-2003), and as a Senior Assistant of the President of the Russian Federation (2003-2005). He is an Acting 1st class State Councillor of Russian Federation. He is also the Director General of the Centre for the Problems of the Civil Society and Private Property. In 1995, with a group of scientists, he participated in the publication of the digest The Other: a New Russia Self-consciousness. He is author of several studies on the economic and social structure of contemporary Russia.
